ZUBI’S Certified By the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council
ZUBI’S, a food company founded by a native El Pasoan, announced Wednesday their national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Women’s Business Council – Southwest (WBENC).
WBENC officials say their standard of certification, as implemented by the Women’s Business Council – Southwest, is a meticulous process including an in-depth review of the business and site inspection.
The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51% owned, operated, and controlled by a woman or women.
“We always say ZUBI’S is for everyone – and that doesn’t stop at the salsa and dips we produce,” says Sarah Zubiate, founder and CEO of ZUBI’S.
Zubiate wanted to offer her family healthier, Latin-inspired alternatives, so she created her signature salsa based on her mother’s 60-year-old recipe.
After finding success among her family and friends, she launched ZUBI’S into retailers in 2017.
“Our team remains committed to giving women a seat at the table as leaders, and we are proud to represent the women-owned business community and offer inspiration to aspiring female entrepreneurs with our WBENC certification.”
“By including women-owned businesses among their suppliers, corporations and government agencies demonstrate their commitment to fostering diversity and the continued development of their supplier diversity programs,” WBENC officials added.
